Drum Skinning Workshop

We have been honored by our dear friend and master drummer Joe coming to teach a workshop on skinning drums. He came from very far, all the way from Volta region to show our students how to repair drums by stretching new goat skins on them and tuning them with rope and pegs. he also showed up his virtuoso drumming skills! Our students Simon and Robert who learned drumming as young kids in Trinity Yard where thrilled to see their first drum teacher and joined him in the daily workshops.

Despite the heat and the strong smell of soaked animal skin they managed to fix all the drums that had been siting in the workshop. They have finally received the love they deserved. Now the beat of Joe’s sunset drumming sessions resonates further than Trinity Yard disappearing into the landscape of Cape Three Points.
