Simon is a very talented musician, he plays various instruments but enjoys traditional drumming the most, which he learned at Trinity Yard as a young boy. Simon is endlessly curious and friendly, making friends with people from all parts of the world that come to visit Cape 3 Points.
Simon’s father is the caretaker of the Cape 3 Points lighthouse, in which Simone works as a guide during the weekend. In addition our two inseparable students Simon and his best friend Robert offer drumming, traditional singing and dancing lessons to foreign guests who are curios about local culture. Simon’s memory is remarkably sharp and his ability to speak many local languages as well as fluent English and conversational Spanish is quite impressive.
Realizing that opportunities are scarce in his village, Simon grabs each chance that comes his way with both hands. Simon’s dream is to travel the world and to meet interesting people, with whom he can share his love for drumming and exhibit his talent worldwide.
Despite Simon’s passion for drumming, he understands the importance of obtaining a technical skill to find a job in his own country, therefore following his graduation, he plans to attend Technical School to study mechanical engineering.
Although the cost of each vocational school placement varies, as does the ability of the graduates’ families to contribute, an average placement costs Trinity Yard approximately $1,800 for a typical three-year program (inclusive of tuition, student fees, material costs, food, housing, transportation, etc.).
